will powdercoat hold up on 327 spark plug shields

If I get my spark plug shields powdercoated on my 327 with ramhorns would it be too hot there or would the coating hold up? Anyone done this?

Powdercoat melts at 400. I woould think Jet Hot would be a better choice.

Yeah I figured that but thought if they weren't touching the manifold they might be ok.

My heat tube on big block is powder coated and it has held up without issue, shield will get no more heat than it does, they should be fine with powder on them

There are powdercoats that are good to 1200 degrees. See the Caswell Plating website. They have it.

It will be fine. I do a lot of motorcycle exhausts with ceramic and powdercoat the heat shields. It works well and lasts. Mine is probably a much "worse case" situation in that the heat shields screw directly to the headers, with only a thin insulated washer under each screw to isolate the exhaust heat from the shield.
