What am I overlooking here.

I am revamping under the dash from all the previous people having there hands in there. Currently working on the cluster on my diesel K30. I have three lights left to plug in but only have homes for two of them. Does one of these go to the cluster. All the holes have the twist in bulbs with no wires running to them. One set is the glow plug light and the other is the fuel in water light. Not sure about the one that has a gray wire and pink with black stripe on it. Trying to figure out what this light is. Alot of these lights were unplugged when I tore into it or missing so I am trying to make it right.

I think the 4x4 light might be worth a look, but that may be black and grey.

Do you have the backlight for the HVAC controls accounted for?

I'm thinking Glow Plug, Water In Fuel, and HVAC backlight...

Yeah the heater control light is plugged in. The wires on it are only about four inches from the bulb to the where it ties into the big wiring loom. So it can't go to far. If I put a bulb in it then it stays on after the truck is running. I am sure there is a reason that it is on but without knowing what it is then I am not sure where to start.

^ I agree.

The factory wiring diagrams show the following wire colors for the diesel specific lights:

Glow plugs = orange and black
Water in fuel = yellow w/black stripe and pink w/black stripe
Low coolant = gray and pink w/black stripe

The 4 wheel drive indicator light usually has pink w/black stripe and white wires. Although the diagrams show diesel with RPO MD8 automatic trans as having brown and white wires for the 4 wheel drive indicator.

x2, now that I can look at a diagram. Diagrams located in member "hatzie"'s signature. Lots of .pdfs.

Only difference is this one says the yellow wire in the W-I-F lamp is solid yellow, not yellow w/black stripe.
