Like most new members I've been watching this site from the side lines so I thought I would show my ride. It's a '63 K20, 292 (I think, the po said it was a 230) I replaced the brake lines/shoes, carb, added power steering, getto fabed a bracket for the pump, new leaf springs in front, new rocker panels and corners, sound/insulation/rubber mat. Have had it for about 6 months now and love it. In one of my pics (hopefully it loaded) what is this? It comes off the heater core then to the rear driver side of motor. Thank you.

Not sure about that hose might have something to do with recirculating.
We do however need more pics of your rig, I Love them 4x's..... |

Welcome to the board! I'm fairly new here too and have a 60 K20 that I'm just trying to get on the road for now. Got to get a new windshield and I should be good. :metal:

It would be a 292 if the side covers are 6 inches in height. That is the easiest way to check. Or if the fuel pump is in the middle of the block. A 194-230-250 have 4 inch side covers and the fuel pump is directly behind the distributor. Here is a picture of my 292's side covers just to give you an idea...:chevy:

Post# 13 has a Bus Type inline heater. Had one on my 62 K10. It should be used for an hour before starting. Any more and you'll be melting snow off the hood. They had a reputation for catching fire. Mine never did. Loved that heater.
Deluxe Gauge dash, nice option. Tow hooks are not original, but useful. Locking hub Option, nice. Aftermarket west coast mirrors, while retaining the small standard round mirror, second truck I've seen today equipped that way. Paint 507 Brigade Blue? Would like some pictures of the spotlight please! Nice truck. P.S. You need to give your headlight bezels their " Black Eyes". I agree...great looking truck. Does appear to be a 292. And Id also like to see some pics of the spotlight mounting....looks much more forward than mine is. Looks like a unity s-6 though.

What's a "bus type inline heater"? It has a wire coming off the bottom and heads up to the grill with a plug on it. The truck came from CO and was used to plow snow at an egg plant and I am having issues with the electrical. It has a switch on the dash that if turned on the headlights go out, so I assume it was for some kind of plow lights. I installed a new alt, coil, wires, distributer and was running great. All of a sudden (weeks after work was done) it won't hold a charge, I'll turn the headlights on and the gauge on the dash drops a quarter down, then if I turn the heater on it will drop all the way down. Do I have a bad ground with the headlights? If I am just driving with nothing on it the gauge stays right in the middle. Thank you everyone for your help.

Id check the voltage regulator personally if you know the alternator is charging good. And chevy wasn't the greatest on grounds with anything electrical, so extra gounds on the light will help.
Your probably spot on w/the plow lights, but pics help greatly here. |

The truck appears to have been a off white color originally.
I pulled the tow hooks off a '70-'80's Suburban, the horse shoe welded to the bumper just for kicks! |
