bleeding clutch master and slave
 
hey guys i am having trouble getting the air out of the clutch system on a 1987 gmc 1 ton 4x4 replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder and bled the unit i had a little firmness on the pedal close to the bottom but then there will be nothing after a few pumps of the pedal any help would be great thank you

I had good luck bleeding it on the bench. I watched a video on youtube that gave me the idea. The slave and MC both unbolt from the truck, so you can take it to you bench. It made it much easier.

take the slave loose from the trans, and slowly push it in and out with the line up, for awhile. it will bleed it all out.

with line facing up you mean and with the bleeder unscrewed or not thanks for the reply

Find someone hooked on methamphetamine and have them pump it up.

It takes about 3500 pumps of the peddle so I use both legs and both arms to do it.

leave the bleeder tight. use the slave, to pump the fluid back and forth, it will air itself out that way pretty quick. took like 2 min on my cummins swap.
