Another 63 Suburban
I guess this will be the official build thread for my wifes 63 Suburban. We checked it out and she bought for herself before we went to SEMA. When we returned a 3 1/2-4 in drop/power brakes kit was ordered. This past weekend with the help of a buddy we got the back end lowered but not with out a little trouble! Member Oakstcustomz was also in attendance.

Re: Another 63 Suburban
That is sweet. No rust that I can see.
Can you post some interior pics? Also, are those reverse lights original? Cool find, lucky her. |

Re: Another 63 Suburban
Man now I'm thinking I might have to sell my truck and get a Burb. The more I see them the more I like them.

Got the rear down just about right..front is mocked up on the low side...new springs and tires should get me right where i want it....rims in front will be changed for stock offset as well as a color change for them all.

Update....finally got a full set of 15 x 6 steelies that will fit the PDB conversion. new 215 75's up front & 235 75's out back. Painted a Chrysler off white with a gold pearl over that and some mid 60's Chevelle dog dish covers. Lowered 4 1/2 front 4 rear. Next up is the 61 grill conversion & painting both grill and bumpers same as wheels. BTW this is for Mrs Bart Savage so she can deliver custom cakes in style!! Thanks to Jeff Spence Kustoms and Oak Street Kustoms in Willits Ca. for all their help!

Nice Burb for sure.!!!

Re: Another 63 Suburban
Good looking burb, I like the static drop. Seems like everyone is bagging their rides these days.
|
Re: Another 63 Suburban
Same color as my burb originally was. Once I repair all the rust I plan on returning to that color again. I'd like the finish to look just like yours.

Its been a while since I've posted an update....my buddy Jeff of Kustoms by Spence and I replaced the rear doors (big thanks to Rickey Lee) and the drivers rocker inner/outer. Removed and metal filled all the holes from the trucker mirrors. Repaired some minor dents here and there. installed a 61 grill in place of the 63, and painted the roof the same as the wheels....late model Dodge off white with some gold pearl in it. Blended the repair spots and shot the whole thing with some clear. Had the local glass guy install new windshield rubber. Next up this weekend is to paint the bumpers grill and grill surround the off white with pearl.
