cross member question!

hey guys ! couple questions here , i have an 86 and an 85. the 86 has mounting brackets for the rear body mounts of the cab and the 85 has a cross-member. the 85 originally had a hanger bearing but id like to put a straight drive-shaft in it. is it possible to order the brackets like on my 86 so the drive-shaft has room ? and how do you get the cross-member out without cutting it ?? i have the truck right down to the frame at the moment. will taking the cross-member out cause any issues ?

Re: cross member question!

Post some pics of solid crossmember. It really depends on how its mounted to the frame.

Describe the trucks a bit more. Both LWB? Both SWB? One is long and the other short?

Powertrain options can also drive a one piece shaft vs a two piece.
