rear gate latch

Need some help guys. Don't know what the rear tailgate opener looks like . If you have a picture it would be appreciated. I assume its under the license plate right?

No it's not under the license plate. I don't have a pic handy, but it is a push button up at the top center, just below the handle on the hatch.

So that controls all three latches on the gate, so why does the license plate
Need to lift up? Sorry for the dumb questions but I didn't have the
Pleas sure of owning one previously

Lic plate lifts up when hauling long items with the gate down, lic plate will show with the gate down. Nifty !
