Brodix Race Rite Oval

Im considering pulling my 781s off in favor of some aluminum heads. My current heads have 2.19/1.88 3/8s valves and just have exhaust bowls opened up.
This is a .70 over 454 @ 10:1 with the current setup(114cc head with a small Je dome). Anybody have any experience with the racerites? I have a lunati 402a7 288/296 255/263@ 50 .612/.630 solid flat tappet im gonna install with it. Rpm air gap 850 holley...made a tad over 500 on the engine dyno with the 781s and a comp xe284. In its current state it'll go 11.9x@111 on motor with a 1.70 60' 3.55 gear.

The RR are good heads from what I've read up on. I was considering these heavily before I decided to pull the trigger on the AFR's. The biggest complaint that I've heard about the RR's is that the mating surface for the valve covers are very low profile. Meaning that when you pop your valve covers off, expect some oil. Get ahold of lewis racing engines and talk it over with him first. He will have a better cam setup to go along with those heads. Hes also a bit cheaper than summit or jegs! http://www.lewisracingengines.com/

I second Mike Lewis. Great guy to deal with. The RR ovals are great heads. Check out Team chevelle, there is a great performance section there with a ton of big block cars running these heads and other heads.

I bought my sbc race rite 180 from mike Lewis. Great guy. Give him a call, but expect him to talk your ear off.

ill probably swap the 402a7 in there for the time being until I pull the motor for the big head/cam change. Ill contact mike lewis about getting setup!! Been reading quite a bit from him on the Team Chevelle page. Probably gonna swap in a roller cam and have it redyno'd.

For a roller cam look up Chris Straub. He will design a camshaft for you based on parts used and will be perfectly matched for your combo. Look him up on Team Chevelle, plenty of info on him over there. Lots of happy customers.

Exactly what I'd do if your going to put a nice set of heads on that motor, without a doubt spend a little extra and go with a hydraulic roller from Chris. You will need to know just a few things about your motor when you call him, or you can simply talk everything over with Mike and he will get you the complete head/cam package. He works with Chris quite a bit! It will be the easiest homework assignment you could ask for when deciding on a cam!
