60-66 keyless entry
 
Anyone got it ? I have a 63 daily. I could really use some advice as to how I can make a keyless entry using the factory latches and locking mechanism? I know there is some type ofmodifications.. if you got them please let me know thanks!

Some will offer links to "kits".....no bueno. I have this project on back burner until my suspension is done. I did order some 17 lb door actuators and have also found that 3rd gen firebird/camaros had a hefty door lock actuator too. Ther is no lock pull on the latch and spinning the lock cylinder isn't really locking the dor when you can punch the cylinder through with a little effort. Unlatching the mechanism electrically tAkes a lot of force and imy next step is to disect a latch mechanism and see if I can fab a lock arm or pin that can be actuated. I have installed an alarm with the door triggers , just need more time to get involved. Ill be watching your thread.

you said you have an alarm, i too want an alarm any more info on how you have your alarm set up? which is the easiest to work with?

Here is an article from Classic Trucks on how to do it. It is alot of work and someday I want to try it. I have extra door locks just for this. I guess this is more of a remote locking system, you still have to use the handle to open the door.
