New guy here... quick question for the pros
 

hey every one ive been lurking for a few weeks now and i came across something weird on my c-10.

I bought this 1970 c-10 lwb in oct

and have been tinkering on it getting it to a reliable driving state since. ive been rewiring the entire truck.

well when i was under it today i noticed it has 2 fuel tanks one in the cab and one under the bed.. as well as a selector switch that i only assume is a tank selector on the floor.

where is the fuel filler for the under bed tank?

bet it fills from the tank in the cab, but if you work like a snake you can follow the filler neck if there is one.

Sometimes with the underbed tanks, they put the filler in the bed. Sometimes in the driver's side tail light, sometimes in the driver's side rear clearance light, sometimes behind the rear license plate, and sometimes inside the rear wheel well. I'm surprised the PO didn't inform you of it's location.
It may be that he was in the process in installing the underbed tank, and wasn't finished yet.

the p/o didnt know a damn thing about this truck. i bought it and he said he never had it running i pulled a valve cover and the heads looked brand new so i ran a # came back as a world motown cast iron head... so i thought id pull a head to see if the 350 was bored and its a brand new never fired 400 stock bore so i drained the pan and there is no oil in the motor even.

By looking at your pictures I can see what looks like a filler hose running to the drivers side. Just follow it and see where it goes.

Can you see any wiring coming from the top of the underbed tank. If so, there should be an electrical switch to switch the fuel gauge from one tank to the other. The switch could also be hooked up to the tank transfer switch that you show in the cab.

If there is no switch for the fuel gauge there might be an electric fuel pump to transfer the fuel from the underbed tank to the tank behind the seat.

Also the underbed tank could be the only one hooked up and whoever added the tank never removed the in cab tank.

Looks like follow the yellow brick road time.

Could be a marker light fill.. Try and find an inlet hose/tube and see where its terminated. Could also be a non finished project.
