Anybody running an Ididit column in an AD truck?
I have an Ididit column from LMC in my '55 1st series and it works well but I have some parts that came with the column that I never used and never found out what they are for.
What are these for? http://i549.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps8055b507.jpg http://i549.photobucket.com/albums/i...psaaac9963.jpg |
Re: Anybody running an Ididit column in an AD truck?
Well the clamp and the black thingy (lol) are to hold your lower column to the floorboard where the column goes through the floor and I suspect that the shiny thingy mounts on your dash original clamp holes to attach a drop for the column

But the clamp is not big enough to go around the column and the holes on "the shiny thing" do not match the column drop. I've even googled the part number and nothing comes up.

I used a similar clamp and similar bracket (black one) to mount my stock style column to the floor.

Re: Anybody running an Ididit column in an AD truck?
the shiny one is part #2301050010 and is a dash bracket for chev trucks
The other are parts for floor mount on 55-57 chevs that mount through original floor holes Hope that helped |

This is the bottom of the column, obviously.
http://i549.photobucket.com/albums/i...psb430b8c3.jpg And this is how the column is mounted at the dash. The dash feels flimsy/weak If I pull on the steering wheel or when I put it in gear. I almost feel like the truck is missing something under the dash because I don't know what to do with the "shiny" part. http://i549.photobucket.com/albums/i...psc137899b.jpg |
