found a front clip
2 Attachment(s)
Well i have few pieces to put on the 89. This will be a learning experiece for me on minor fab and bodywork. The"new" front clip is off a 70's Sierra 15. It is between good and great shape.A very small bubbling of rust on the lower part of the fender and asmall dent on hood keep it from being great. I will have to learn how to sand, bondo, prime and paint to get a match. This a DD and a hunting truck,so greatness is not required.Got 2 doors and a windshield in the deal to.wish me luck

Re: found a front clip
nice score
same swap i did on my 88 suburban if your still able to get parts off the donor truck grab the wiper linkage and all associated parts, you DONT need the wiper motor. the linkage and wiper posts are different then the ones on your truck now. the 70s linkage attaches to the newer motor, the wiper posts will only match up with one mounting hole, youll have to mark and drill a second hole. also grab the plastic mesh/grate peice that covers that area, also different. also if your keeping a/c your gonna have to get a little creative the 70s trucks used a small condensor compared to the newer style i carefully cut the rad support until the condensor fit |

Re: found a front clip
Aint had a day off since New years so have not touched it yet. On the up side I will have money to pay a pro to paint it to match. I was outside tonight and was looking around at my "new" clip. It says 4.1 liter emissions for 1980 model year on the core support. I thought 1980 had the square lights????? Also the wiper conversion baffles me? And will a generic 1973-80 grill from LMC fit?
