before or after

To those who have experience or just a good idea. I would like to powder coat the frame and after reading several posts regarding doing all mods before powdercaoting. I just wanted to know about the C-notch. Should the powdercoating be done before or after the C-notch is applied. All help is appreciated.

before, powder coat doesnt like heat and when you cut the frame it will lift and continue to lift as water gets under it

There is no point it doing it before. IMO the entire truck should be built and fully assembled and driveable then take everything apart and get it done, this way any holes that you drill in the frame or any welding is protected by the coating.

The previous guy is completely right! Put that Notch on and the have the frame powdercoated. I didn't! Now I have a bunch of scratches, etc. I had a guy say, "I didn't scratch my frame any after putting the notch in"! Well I did scratch mine installing the notch and even when I got mad at hit my frame with a hammer. I have impatiently been working on my frame for a year now. I have everything there to finish it. But the air compressors at my friends shop keep tearing up, and I always get blamed for some reason!
