How much would you guys pay for this?

3 Attachment(s)
Thinking about purchasing this truck. This is what I know.

1979 1/2 ton.
Has a knocking stock 454 with Turbo 350.
Paint faded.
Glass all in tact.
Roached tires on steel rims (currently).
Interior fair (see pic).
12 bolt with 3.08s
All the electrical seems to be in order.
Manual locks and windows.
A/C delete.
Wood in bed needs to be replaced.
Some minor rust in a couple places but otherwise all the body is pretty much straight.
Grill is damaged.
Electrical is in working order.

Let me know your thoughts please on a price. I have till Saturday to figure this out. You guys get to help me decide! Please see attached pics. I have a big weakness for this year of stepside, especially with a big block (knocking or not) so I don't want to let my emotions control my wallet. That's why I am seeking second opinions on a realistic price for it. :metal:

x2. Lot of work and money need to go into it to even make it usable. Not nice, just usable.

I wouldn't go over $1800...$1500 or less would be a good deal.

These prices seem a little low to me. Is it the knocking?

Re: How much would you guys pay for this?

I would be glad to pay $1800-2000+ for that, but it is a clean looking truck, and I'm in the rust belt, so my opinion is a little biased. I also would not have any problem finding a running 454 to drop in it for less then 1k, so that is a factor.

In my neck of the woods that's only about an $800 truck and that is only if someone really wants it.

You couldn't touch that truck around here for $800...

Re: How much would you guys pay for this?

Up here it would go for 2500 at least. I'd be happy to get it for 2 and drop a wrecker motor in. Wam bam

X2. I could probably get $400 for a nice step bed.

Re: How much would you guys pay for this?

Its got to be worth almost $600 for scrap!

If the engine block is not cracked you could probably get a few $100 out of it, after you pulled and replaced it for a good runner.

I've gotten $400 for step side beds that needed fenders and wood (trade value, not cash)

Scrap is way down. Might be worth $240 in scrap.
