Monroe air shocks + flipkit ??

Hi,just wonder if sombody have Monroe max air MA743 on their truck
with flipkit mounted.Have DJM Calmax 2100 shocks now but would like to have more support when hauling loads on the bed.

Have mailed Rockauto but they was not sure about the shocks travel range
This would be fairly close to the Max Air shocks but not exactly in the same range.

They suggested checking a Chevy/GM truck owners forum to see if anyone has done a swap to these shocks with a non stock height to see if these were a direct fit, or if there was special fabrication that needed to be done.

Would be nice if they fit without shock extenders.

And A Happy New Year everybody :)

Glenn in Sweden.

I did the DJM 3" spindles with 1 cut coil up front and the axle flip in the rear. I used the shock extenders and Monroe air shocks, but I can't remember which part number. I'm a very cheap guy and didn't want to spend the money on extenders, but looking at the angles I thought it was a must to use them. I'm very happy with the way my 87 GMC SWB looks and drives.

Exactly what I'm about to do. Those Monroes have the same specs as a stock shock, no reason not to work. You have to use the extenders because the travel is the same as stock.

my buddy has G-series van max air shocks with shock extenders. can shocks are about an inch shorter. that gets the axle into the notch just fine

Basically causes your overload to touch earlier in suspension travel.
Handy since a lowered truck depending on how low it is usually only starts hitting the overload just before it touches the frame notch

Here's some pics. I'm running about a 1" rake right now with the air shocks and I swapped passenger side springs to driver side to help deal with the fat driver.

Thanx for pics.I can see that you have one more leaf in the springs.I should remove the exhaust system over rear axle and let it out before rear wheel instead.

Should think about using the overload leaf or Monroe shocks.
