87 Silverado just up and died
Ok, so heres the scoop...
I was driving down the highway and heard a rattling noise, so I start touching all sorts of things to try and pinpoint the rattle. I narrowed it down to being in the glove box region. Soooo, I gave the dash above the glove box a whack and the truck just up and died. I checked all the fuses and wiggled all sorts of wires under the dash to no avail. I'm at a total loss and I dont know where to start looking for problems. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears lol Thanks Rick |

Remove the glovebox and have a look see? Isn't that where the ECM is on '87s? Don't understand what would make any noise, but I'd start with taking a look there.

I had a gander up under there and I seen the ECM, checked the connections and looked for any loose wires, but everything looked fine. Could it be possible that I damaged the actual ECM? Quote:
I knocked her out :dohh: |
Re: 87 Silverado just up and died
Update....
It ended up being my selector valve, which I guess crapped out on me by pure coincidence when I hit my dash. I just ended up bypassing it, all is well now. |
