Re: can i start my car by remote
Is that a 4-speed automatic or 4-speed manual? The remote start switches do not work on manual trans because you have to push in on the clutch to start the vehicle.

No it's a 4-speed automatic

Re: can i start my car by remote
You have to have rpo code ap8 to have factory remote start added and you needa tech 2 scanner to program it

Re: can i start my car by remote
I've been wondering about this. I've got an '09 Sierra SLE, can you just buy a factory Remote start module and remotes and plug it into the BCM and go, or is is more complicated? Don't wanna carry two remotes and like the factory integration. Thanks!

Re: can i start my car by remote
If your rpo list has the ap8 code that's the prep package for remote start. You can buy the kit from gmpartsdirect or (ebay like i did. I got mine for $80 it was a factory gm kit 2 remotes and the authorization code; with out the code the remotes are usless )and the dealer will call gm with an authorization code and then they'll just the tech 2 with the laptop to flash the bcm and flash the theft module for the remote start. I got lucky basically stole the kit and we have the tech 2 at work and flashed it myself.
