How do I fix this?
 

I have a perfect stock radio that I'd really like to use in my new truck but my dash panel looks like this. Can it be fixed with a piece of sheet metal ? I have no welding abilities...

well to look stock , most cut out a good hole and weld it back in
not sure if rivits or screws would hide ok
not sure if you could pull it in from behind?
it may be a temp fix, and get it welded in later?
I found a source for a plastic plate and bits to fix mine(looks close to OEM) any size
as I moved the radio above the heater .
leaving this hole area for a CB and switches I need

If you cut out a piece of dash from a donor truck you will have to be able to rivet it in from a place that does not show with the bezel on the truck and that wont really give it the proper support.... Im sure that any body shop could tack that in there for about $20 or so

Cut a piece out of a truck at a junk yard and pop rivet it in with steel rivets. It will hold a radio . I would use a stabilizing strap to support the rear of the radio. It shouldn't go anywhere.

Ok. I found a donor truck with a perfect metal dash. It looks like there are 2 bolts on either side that attach the dash panel to the cab. I'm guessing it's welded across the front near the windshield. Would it work if I unbolted the sides and cut the panel out if the donor and bolted and riveted or screwed it back into the new truck? I hate not being able to weld...

It's a lot of work to replace the dash. The repair methods others posted would be the way I would go since it won't show once the bezel is reinstalled. Only way I would remove the dash would be in a total refit or changing to a custom/different year. IMHO

I did this on a clients truck. I used piece of sheet metal and put 4 screws in it. The 2 on the right are in the original location and the 2 on the left are screwed right into the dash. The front of the radio is supported on that plate and the rear is supporter with a metal strap. This solution will not require any welding or riveting.
