Mines right at about 5 inches, sittin on 35" pro comp m/t's. I went with skyjacker 4 inch front springs, ORD rear shackle flip with stock rear springs, and 1 inch zero rate add a leafs front and rear. Skyjacker gas shocks. Rides pretty nice for a 3/4 ton.

If you lift yours, do whatever you can to stay away from blocks! I know its a lot cheaper, and easy to install, but its the wrong way to do it. You end up with a lot off axle hop and spring wrap, broken u joints, and a big headache. With a shackle flip you get a great pinion angle, and not nearly as much spring wrap.

Even at 5 inches i still head to trim my fenders to clear 35s, so keep that in mind as well when choosing your tire size.

Both of those trucks look very nice. Do you guys think a set of 35x12.50x15 trxus mt's would look like pizza cutters with a 6" lift? Or should I look for wider tires?

How come your rear axle looks so far forward?

When you do the shackle flip it just rotates back of the spring down, nosing the pinion up, and therefore might move the axle an inch or so forward. That's my best guess. On the zero rate leafs there are multiple holes for the leaf spring pins, so you can move your axle forward or back an inch.

The sides were the only good part. The rest of it was effed up. Same as the cab. Looked great until I drove dirt roads for a summer. Just crumbled into the road. The box dropped about 5"... Lets just say somebody before me was an expert at bondo.

Do you plan on putting the old trim onto the new bed?

willett 01-24-2014 04:15 PM

Re: Lets see some trucks with a 4'' to 6'' lift with 35s

I don't think so. With a fresh paint job I think the 30 yr old trim will show its age too much. I think I will get a pinstriper to mimic the trim lines. I think it will look bad ass.

Re: Lets see some trucks with a 4'' to 6'' lift with 35s

sounds cool. you could polish your trim or buy repos too though for the money.
