mooneyes 07-20-2003 01:21 AM

IMO ---> Letters in.

Hotrod70C10 07-20-2003 02:38 AM

Letters out, depending on what tire it is.

SEVEND2 07-20-2003 03:01 AM

hmm Depends on the brand of tire

BF-Goodrich, Yokahmas, goodyear, etc

and is it lowered or raised

Letters out look good on Raised trucks and black wall good on lowered trucks

i grew up in a time when rwl where king. i still love em so i have to say letters out, besides it looks funny with the letters on the inside. just get all black wall if ya want black out.

JayDubBlazer 07-20-2003 04:53 AM

Trucks look smoother with the letters in, unless it is a monster truck

Longhorn Man 07-20-2003 09:40 AM

All black tires look cheap to me, plus the RWL screams hot rod to me.

If you have RWL, show 'em. If they're inside, they are still visible but look dorkier! :D

Piston 07-20-2003 01:38 PM

Put'em out! To me it depends on teh size of the tire.
If your going to use a short sidewall tire, low profile, then its black wall out! If its a taller tire like most of our trucks have, RWL out. To me, they look strange with all black showing on a tall tire.

this is a good post, i have to decide by next weekend, i got rims getting coated this week and tires are paid for and waiting to go on, what should i do????????????? they are 275 60 15s all the way around on ralleys....the truck is going to be black and i think i might go with stock grey or black ralleys...should i go grey ralleys with no white showing or black ralleys with white letters

casey 07-20-2003 06:17 PM

I like the black rally idea with white letters, the chrome on the black ralleys will really set it off, specially on a black truck just my 2cents

Palf70Step 07-20-2003 07:15 PM

looks like the poll is pretty even. I prefer no letters on both my trucks that I have now. Just think they look better that way to me. My old f--d that I had, I liked the letter showing.

:gmc: letters in unless the manufacture is going to pay me to advertise his tires.

You rip the GMC or CHEVROLET badges off your truck too?

weasel29gm 07-20-2003 10:00 PM

I like em' out kinda goes with our year of truck!!!!!!

MandarinSixSeven 07-20-2003 11:42 PM

Black ralleys and white letters...hell ya
My general rule of thumb is, if the wheel does not have much detail, like a smoothie for example, white letters out are a must. But if the wheel is like a five spoke or something like that, the letters take away from the wheel...
