heater core box

I have a 79 k20 that somebody fudged up the box by ripping it open. It is a no ac truck. My question is woukd a box from a ac truck work and will any 73-87 box work?

The A/C box is quite a bit bigger,if I remember correctly even the heater hose holes in the firewall are in a different spot.

They are different. The heater core is mounted inside that box, and as mentioned, the lines go through the fire wall more to the passenger side of the truck on the AC box, than where yours go now.
