Brothers-LMC-Classis Parts

Are the parts from these companies made by the same manufactures? Classic co. parts are a lot cheaper to buy.

Having bought from them all, most of all of these parts are made in China. Most, if not all, aftermarket parts are far inferior to original equipment GM or Delco parts. Often, the only choice you have is to buy aftemarket (Chinese) parts, since OEM parts are usually no longer made (except for mechanical and some electrical parts.) In short, I have found no difference in the quality of the parts from any of them.

I always start a part search with the GM OEM part number, if I can find it.

Then I check Ebay, Amazon, and google search for the part number.

Then I try the usual OEM suspects:

www.rockauto.com (good for getting the OEM part number, sometimes.)
www.oewarehouse.com (free or low cost shipping on OEM parts)
www.oehq.com (free or low cost shipping on OEM parts)
www.autopartstomorrow.com (free shipping over $100, often lowest price)
www.gmpartsdirect.com (ridiculously high shipping cost, but low part price)

I have used all of the OEM suppliers listed above with no complaints. I stick with OEM GM or Delco whenever I can - often not much more and sometimes cheaper than aftermarket.

If possible, use OEM junkyard parts, except for electrical and some mechanical.

If you need parts you can check the for sale section of this website, or post your inquiry for a part number here. Chances are, somebody here has already looked for and found the best option for the part you want. Be patient for a response because you need to catch the eye of the forum member who knows your needs.

What is "Classic co"? do you have a link?

I think LMC is inexpensive and of slightly lower quality than Brothers.
But it depends on the part.

I'm going to guess that they are not the same manufacturers, but they are both made in China.

I would shop part by part, and ask the Forums, you will get the feedback you are looking for.

Example:
Folks have bought door panels from LMC, are they happy with them?

LMC Cab lights seem to be low quality (from what I've seen here) and the "chrome" fails on them.

I've built multiple trucks getting all of my stuff from either Rockauto (hard parts) or Classic Parts (truck specific restoration parts). Both have served me fantastically.

Often, Classic Parts is selling you genuine GM parts for some things.

I won't touch LMC. Their shipping is stupid, being based off dollar value rather than actual size and weight. Plus, I've called Classic Parts multiple times and spoken with their phone guys and talked actual GM part numbers. True tech stuff there that LMC is very lacking of.

Kevin has a good point. I think I paid $10 shipping for a hand full of trim clips AND then again $10 shipping for rubber tank-to-fillerneck rubbers ($40 of parts).

yeah, like TX Firefighter says, lmc shipping IS retarded! more so if it's going across the border. $115 to ship two $70 headlight bezels. never bought from them, but keep getting a new catalog free every 4-5 mons.
bought quite a bit from classic. every thing i've bought from them so far is gen. gm & appears to be made in the states or canada. i'm sure they got some off-shore stuff, but i have'nt got any yet.

Re: Brothers-LMC-Classis Parts

The only thing I have bought from LMC was my complete rubber body mount kit. The kit was 149.95 and total bill was 173.00. The box was fairly heavy so I didn't think that was too bad. I was considering ordering their dody side molding on a roll when it comes time for it.

I really can't say anything about any of the other companies except RockAuto. I have ordered some stuff through them but it has all been either steering or suspension related for the most part. I did just put in an order for a set of wheel well moldings. They were 8&9 dollars a piece. Another member said he ordered some and they had the GM numbers on them when they came.
