short parking brake cable

ok so I put a 6" lift on my 71 Blazer and have a too short cable at the point where the cable goes to each drum. need to either make some type of drop down bracket or use a longer cable if that's possible. any suggestions or what someone else did to solve that problem. Pics would help if you have them. Thanks

Go to he parts store and look through the brake cable catalog. I don't have any numbers anymore but find your stock cable and length and find one 4-6inches longer. That or you can make a drop bracket to relocate your main cable lower.

I was looking around and someone said a g30 van ebrake cable was long enough to clear the gap. Also someone said that you can get longer canles from inline tube. That's all I got.

Re: short parking brake cable

Thanks Guys. I'm making a drop down bracket for the time being. Working with a pretty tight budget and looking for the cheapest "best" way to do it. Will look into a longer cable as $$$ permits. Had to stop working because of health issues but didn't want it to prevent me from wrenching on my toy. I'm too close to finishing now to quit. Thanks again

When you get this worked out, would you be so kind as to post pics etc of what you did. I have a six inch lift also and would like to get mine working again.
Thanks :metal:

Hey its great to hear from the "left" coast. I moved from El Dorado hills to S.Carolina a couple of years ago and sure miss home. Ok enough tears. Yea I'd like to do this the right way and replace the cable with a longer one but will just make a drop down for now but will post some pics as soon as I get it done. :chevy:
