Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
Just got this truck in - I'm using the complete driveline for converting my '72 GMC to 4x4 (that's motor, trans, t-case, axles, wheels/tires, springs and hangars, hydroboost, steering stuff). Everything else is up for grabs (except the roof lights and lenses, I'm keeping those ;) )
The roof on this truck was replaced by a body shop about 5 years ago, as was the driver's door, from an '89 parts truck - tree fell on it during an ice storm. They did a good job. Both door shells are good, cab could be saved but needs outer floors, cab corners, both rockers (they have been done just not correctly and are rusting again). Also missing driver's window. Some of the stuff I have listed local on CL, prices: Doors - SOLD Hood - $80 Grille - SOLD Core Support - Srapped Front Bumper - $40 Dump Body (complete electric/hydraulic) - SOLD More parts: (pictures on page 3) Stainless grill trim - 4 pieces, includes most clips and trim nuts - $40 Front lighting harness - $25 Front marker lamps (GMC style) - $15/pair Grille-bumper filler - $15 Cowl - $20 Hood (one small dent) - $50 Washer fluid reservoir with pump - $10 Radiator (no trans cooler) - $50 Radiator upper mounts - $5 Hood latch - $10 Dash bezel (one broken tab, lower right corner) - $15 Under column panel / trim (cracked tab) - $10 All prices OBO. Anything else you want, post up and I'll see what condition is and give a price. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps87797c9e.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps5cd0495a.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps200438a6.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps4c06ed33.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps6465d925.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps189eb318.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps83b9ad15.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psac808bf2.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psdfbd214c.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...pscf89dd9d.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps1ef5166b.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psa61d2a95.jpg Passenger's side, driver's similar http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps721e664f.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps205c8d82.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps6af228d8.jpg Driver's http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psfd029b1b.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps3c7f72c3.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps6cdf7518.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps71479b1e.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psa4469641.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps477f4875.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps269bc196.jpg |

Ok thanks. Take some pics of the gauge cluster also if you don't mind. I might be interested in that too.

When you're under the cover looking at the seat, will you please take a look at the head rests and post a picture? Thanks.

Photos requested:
The seat is okay, it's got some cracking in the vinyl but nothing terrible http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps6c5bf043.jpg Headrests http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps29e9930e.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps28819b2a.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psb47c34e1.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps50e84265.jpg seat belts aren't great either. Springs are weak and the plastic is a bit ratty http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps66c6f288.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps4c85d897.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps880c12fb.jpg gauge cluster/bezel http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps0ad5ee41.jpg And skidplate underneath for B_derk20 http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps883b0645.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps17e610e4.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...psccdff1ca.jpg |

Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
Im thinking of purchasing a 78 c60 former fire truck and creating a heavy hauler with a dually pickup bed on the back end Id like to make the dually have dumping ability so the whole system minus on your truck minue the bed body

Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
I don't think the headrests will work for me, but I'll see if I can figure a way. Trying to add some to a cloth covered bench seat on a 1984 Suburban. It;s vinyl accents are a different color, too. How much in case I get adventurous?
I think I could work with the outer position only seat belts if B derk20 passes on them. Tell me how much if that happens. Are the GMC letters from the grille in good condition with solid paint coverage? How much for those? Thanks. |
Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
Price on the bezel? Shipped to 81503. I'll pass on the belts since mine are in the same condition. I know you are keeping the drivetrain but if you ever decided to part with that skid plate please let me know.

Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
ok you are in NH so that prolly an overnight trip from NJ which is completely doable for me. If you are ok with it I would prolly take the ride up there and get it in person. I have not yet made the deal on the truck this would go on yet.. Id like to be first in line on this set up.. and if possible can you give me about a week to see if I can score the truck?

Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
If the cab doesn't sell complete I'd be interested in just the roof I've already done my floor and rocker repairs

Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
I learned the same thing about the grille letters.
I'm not adventurous enough on the headrests at $50. I can make it a little easier on the seat belts if you can simply remove the outside belts with the retractors. I realize I already have the inner belts in the right color. See how that works for you and the price for just those. Thanks. |

Re: Parting out - 1987 V3500 Sierra
Hope it stopped snowing.
I just took a close look at the area where I want to install the belts. I'm trying to replace single retractor lap belts with double retractor three point belts. I'm not sure belts from a front seat will work. I'm sure belts like the ones on the front seat of this Suburban won't fit in the space. Before you go to any more trouble, could you measure the plastic housing dimensions? I'm talking about the outboard ones, next to the door. I'm posting elsewhere to see if anybody can show us a picture of the dealer-installed rear shoulder belts. Thanks. |
