do i have a TH400 transmission in my '84? need your help!
 

I have a 427 swapped '84 C10 and wanted to know what transmission i have so i can order a stall converter for it.

i read that you can tell my the shape of the oil pan, well here's a picture of the best i could take (truck is lowered)

trans oil pan, yes is greasy sorry haha but it gives you the shape of the pan. taken from the passenger side of the truck

Turbo 350 have a cable detent cable that hooks to the carb and 400 will have an electronic one.

Easiest way to tell difference from a t350 or t400 is position of the vacuum modulator.
T350 is at the back and t400 is on the passenger side close to the front.

This could also be a 375.check for kick down cable to carb. No cable definitely 400. shadetreemech

TH375's had an electric detent just like a TH400. The trans in the OP is definitely a TH400. TH375's didn't come with deep oil pans, in stock form anyway.
