Re: 1972 blazer
Nice, you can fix that easy peasy... Few new parts, some trees, come a long or porta power, a lil' tug here and there and you'll be in business. Goof find.

Re: 1972 blazer
At first i thought maybe i should part it,but theses blazers with decent bodies are hard to find.i would feel guilty if i parted it.I spend alot of time on Craigslist and know this is a good blazer.your right it won't take much to get it right and looking better.off the top of my head i need a single wall top a better tailgate and front clip.

Re: 1972 blazer
Wow, good price. Rusted out hulks cost more than that around here. At least the damage is in the front end and not rear.

Re: 1972 blazer
All looks fixable. The only thing I'd worry about is that front frame horn bent which throws off anything behind it. That can be fixed or at least checked at a good auto body place. Definitely is a decent truck for A grand. As much good stuff in there you could get twice that. How's the rest of the tub?
|
Re: 1972 blazer
I was just thinking about the tub today.I started to pull up the carpet a bit last weekend but mainly just cleaned it out a bit from what ive looked at, I haven't really seen any signs of major rust on the bed as of yet.I think the cab floors are gonna need some help for sure.Im also curious about the front of the frame also, I keep the blazer 35 min from where I live so its been kinda hard to really get some quality time with the 72 blazer, right now my 71 blazer is in need of my attention thanks to black ice.

Hey joea307 , I have 2 parts Blazers down south If you need anything let me know Jim

Re: 1972 blazer
Good score there. The motor looks very unmolested. Great deal.
Jim I could use some parts for mine down south here. |
Re: 1972 blazer
the engine needs a touch of work,it really just needs a good tuneup and according to my protecto plate that is the original engine. It needs a different carb, points and one of the right rear rocker arms adjusted, and some new plugs and plug wires and go from there.

Re: 1972 blazer

I have been cleaning up the interior of the blazer and got some trash thrown out.I didn't find anything special in it.so far from what im seeing this blazer still has the original engine transmission.Im fairly sure it still has the original rear end and it should be a posi.sos far most of the electrical has been working.I havent got the heater to work yet or get the turn signals yet.I also need to hook up the original radio.the took out the tape player they put in and put the am radio back,im vary happy i have the original radio.I did start it a few weeks ago but i need to give it a tune up.But the 71 blazer i own is getting the lions share of attention as of right now.

I was thinking that I might have got lucky also on the frame damage.I have checked all around the blazer being it has rear quarter damage and on the front of frame and I can't really see anything that would be real hard to fix.So far I have about 1,500 total in it with all things things that I bought listed in previous posts plus I got an original saddle color dash pad also in good condition no cracks and a better(straight) tailgate, seat belt holder version console in good shape(the console was in a 57 chevy car parts lot on craigslist,i sold $100 worth of parts from that lot and am in only 25 dollar investment in the console at this point).

recently I got the clutch done on my 72.I also just bought a single wall top from a member on here. I alsos bought a gmc jimmy tailgate that is a touch better than my blazer gate. The blazer is driving better,it had a decent amount of buildup in the engine because now it driving better .Also the brakes and power steering are working better. For not being drivin for about 20 years and almost getting parted out(by someone else) glad this one is seeing the road again.

Re: 1972 blazer
Thanks for pics - looks good

Re: 1972 blazer
It's looking better! Why the change to the GMC tailgate? The chevy tailgate looked good in the pics.

Re: 1972 blazer
thanks for all the compliments ,jim I'm kinda thinking your right about the tailgate, but the gmc is a bit better in condition than the blazer tailgate.
