will Ford alcoa dually wheels work on a k30?

So I've been searching all morning and cant seem to find exactly what I'm looking for here. I've got a chance to pick up some free Alcoa dually wheels that were pulled from a mid 90 ford dually. From what I understand the fords use a slightly larger hub so factory steel wheels wont work on a chevy but what about the aluminum Alcoa's? Anybody tried them?

I want to say 97 and older will bolt up although I believe the hub whole may need opened up. I am not 100% on that but that is what comes to mind.

they will fit. Ford used a bigger hub, therefor the wheel opening will be larger. Now Gm wheels are the opposite, so they won't fit on a Ford.

The center of the ford rim is larger so you will need to machine a sleeve to center on the Chev hub;they will bolt on without the sleeve but will not run true.

I am glad you guys straightened that out. I couldn't remember which way it went.

80SPORT, do you have any pics or links of a sleeve being made for this application? I would like to see a pic of this if possible.

That's what I thought, but how is it that an eagle dually wheel will fit both a ford and chevy without a sleeve for the hub?

All of the Eagles I've seen use the self centering Mag type of shouldered lug nuts. They rely on the lugnut and stud to carry the load rather than the hub centric.

Absolutely not. The Alcoas have small lug holes, just big enough for the studs, but not big enough for the shouldered lugnuts. I guess you could easily drill the lug holes bigger though.

Measure the pattern first, Ford changed to a metric pattern in 99. I'd take them anyways and sell them for one's that fit.

Are they they the 5 star or 8 hole? I beleave that the 5 stars are in the new pattern, unless they are ea wheels.

The spacer your looking for is called hub centric rings, you should be able to get them at any tire shop.

Check bolt pattern , I did not think ford and chevy were the same. Dodge and chevy are the same with different size center bores. Dodge will fit chevy but chevy will not fit dodge. Chevy is 8 on 6.5 until 2011 and then they changed to 8 on 180.

Re: will Ford alcoa dually wheels work on a k30?

This is my understanding. The Pre-97 (or is it 99?) Ford Alcoas will fit and most all the Dodge wheels should fit because they are 8 on 6.5". The newer Fords will not fit because they are 8 on 170mm. I believe depending on which way you are going some hub centers needs bored and some may require the hub centric rings. That's just from a little research I did. How accururate that is I don't know but that is what I come up with.

I've been looking online for some rings an found a few sources, now I just need a caliper big enough to measure the hub and wheel centers haha

cochino12, you can take one of each wheel to a machine shop and have them make you a set.

I think you ned the HR125-116 rings

About 12.00 each

But measure first before ordering.

(wheel center 124.9 mm....hub od 116.7 mm)
