CPP Tubular arms
 

So.... I just installed a pair of CPP tubular arms for 60-72 Chevy truck and CANNOT install the pre-installed ball joints that came with it. I have stripped multiple castle nuts and had to rethread the ball joints because the CCP drop spindle wont seat far enough. I've even heated the spindle. My old ball joints have the eye of the ball joint about 2 threads down, the new ones have the eye about 5 threads down. Anyone have an experience like this with these CPP tubular arms? Thanks.

I'm not sure what balljoints you have in the CPP a-arms,... but the balljoints are different.
They are divided as follows:
60-62
63-70
71-72
73-87

What year spindles do you have?
The balljoints have to match the spindles!

I purchased them from CPP's ebay store. They state the arms fit 1963-72 Chevy truck.

It says: Control Arms come with 1963 thru 1970 ball joints already installed. Arms are black powder coated.

P.s. what year Bel-Air do you have? I have a 63.

OK,... so you have 63-70 balljoints in your a-arms.
What year spindles are you using?

63-70 Drop spindles. But like I said. The last ball joints I believe that I purchase from Napa or O'reillys have higher eyelets/cotter pin holes.

Somehow you have the wrong balljoints.
CPP sent you the wrong ones, or the parts store balljoints are wrong,... or you have the wrong year spindle.
Wish I could help,... but all I am doing is guessing.

Just went through my receipts and realized I got the drop spindles as a kit from Brothers, who felt it necessary to build a front disc brake kit from a 73-87 CPP spindle and front suspension parts to make replacement parts less expensive. CPP made no error here. But now I need to find out if the ball joints come out of the CPP arms because a few swings from a BFH hasn't moved them

i think the last ones i installed /i had to double up the washers above the castle nut ??

I've changed balljoints before with a BFH, but a hydraulic press works much better.....lost easier on the parts too.
