WTB - Below eyeline mirrors

Looking for a clean set of below the eyeline style mirrors for a 72 C20. Don't need perfect condition, but clean or really nice driver.

I am looking for a set where the top bracket of the tripod is slightly below the door/window line, NOT the type where the bracket mounts at this line. My truck has no trim. While reading around the forum I am under the impression now that these are different brackets, not just bracket locations. Pictures posted are borrowed from members on this site. If anyone has some info on the different types/styles of these mirrors please chime in.

I have several mirrors of that type on the top picture. Ive seen alot of people looking for mirros lately so I'll post a thread and reply with the link here. You will have first shot since I believe mine are a match to the ones you are searching for.

No mirrors to offer ya, but you had asked for info in your above post. Here are some pictures of a 72 highlander with its original DG4 below-eyeline mirrors, this truck still had original paint & no extra mirror holes ever. Good luck on the hunt! Mel :chevy:

Mel, thanks a lot for the info, it brings me to a question...

Do you know if the style on the yellow truck (with the slightly different tripod brackets) above are considered "DG4" below the eye line, or another code/name?

If you are asking for my opinion, judging by the pic I would say that the mirror on the yellow truck is not an original DG4. It looks aftermarket as do the mirrors that Cash posted above, look at the differences in the tubular mounts and the lack of threaded studs/accorn nuts. The mirror pictured on Tim's old blue/white highlander look like the OE DG4's, the DG4 mirrors were real common on the highlanders. Mel :chevy:

Mel,
Again you school me on something... Thank you for pointing it out, I also noticed the upper mount brace is tubular not flat. I apologize to you (itwillbeslow).

Cash, how much do you want for that set? Do you have any pictures of the backs? Any marking that ay indicate a part number or who made them?

Does anyone have a picture of below-eyeline mirrors that are for sure factory in the position of the yellow truck above? Id like to know exactly what the bracket looked like.

Those are NOT stock, they're then universal tripod mirrors sold by LMC. I just bought a pair and had to share this bit of info.

Notice that the top mounting bracket is flat and not tubular.

Hard to tell if those the middle size ones, or the small size ones. I bought the small ones.

Re: WTB - Below eyeline mirrors

thanks for sharing. Yep, metal is thinner, flat support on top, mirror heads are different, and mirror arm end is flat rather than round with a stud in the end to mount mirror head.

The mirrors with wider spread lower supports are '73+ style (aftermarket or OEM)

Yep, those were '72 OEM DG4s. The truck still had original paint, but it originally had the DF2s. The DG4s came off a pair of '72 Cheyenne Super doors I've had stashed since '84.
