Firewall differences?
Ok, so another question about my "77"...I had to strip down the interior because of mouse poop....so I am now in the reassemble process and want to install a new firewall pad....I'm "thinking" the cab haas been changed and the old vin plate attached to it. Reason is the front headlights and core support are 1980(square headlights), the wiring harness matches the 78-80(plastic fuses and different wiper motor) the bed has fuel doors and the fuel system(tanks and switching valve) have a return line( PO made one from engine to switching valve from copper tubing)....
So what I want to know is...what is the difference in the firewalls?(different shaped holes or locations?) The pads are listed 73-79 and then 80-up? Thanks |
Re: Firewall differences?
and BTW it has a "77" frame...verified the vin on frame rails....

Re: Firewall differences?
If your talking dash pad, you need the early one if the vin plates on the door pillar.

Re: Firewall differences?
the differences that I can remember was the ac and non ac cabs have different holes if you have a 3 on the three there is a separate hole ( I think they weren't on the tree after like 80 maybe im wrong) Its been so long I don't recall since I put the 81 cab on the 76 frame

Re: Firewall differences?
I don't think there are any except the 81-87 cowl hood hinge area I have a 81 and stripped 73 cab and there basically identical just diffrent holes punched both are a/c cabs all the areas that can be drilled are there even the hole for the ecm harness on 83-87 just my .02
