Suburban grill swap
 

A little help here please I did the suburban grill swap on my 87 stepside this weekend, I got everything off the suburban for the swap including the wiring harness to to the fuse box. My problem is that the suburban wiring wont come close to plugging in to my fuse box which was for only two headlights. Am i missing something here or is it time to splice wires. Also my DA shut the hood to check alignment and i forgot that I hadn't hooked up the cable on the hood release yet, anybody no how to get the hood open? Am i going to gave to try any reach up from the bottom and unlatch it. It was late last night when i did this so I haven't really tried anything yet:chevy:

2nd quest..........yes. 1st quest im not sure but i think you do need to splice stuff.

on my 91 suburban conversion it was plug and play.... why it doesnt reach is odd. for the latch ive drilled a hole in the coresupport to hit the latch before.....

No its plenty long enough the accual plug end is way different

If the plastic connector is different, the terminals may still be the same type. If so, you can simply pull the individual terminals and swap them into the old connector. Pretty sure the color codes would be the same.

most people just splice thebtwo harness's, that's how I do all mine. I cut each wire at different spots so all the splice's are not together .

DO you use butt splices or heat shrink and solder? i would think the 2nd choice would be cleaner!
