thanks in advance for any help guys

So the truck is a 1981 chevy stepside

Im having an issue trying to get the washer fluid pump to work. the tank is fine got a new cap for it old one was cracked. all the lines are clear of obstructions. and it sounds like the pump is moveing back and forth as it should.

not sure why it wont spray fluid...

here are pic of the tank, wiper motor and pump and the type of switch that it has on the dash

Try taking the hoses off at the nozzles to see if the pump will squirt solvent. If it does the nozzles are stopped up, you can use a small piece of wire or a paper clip to open them up. If it doesn't squirt you need a new pump or a repair kit like this one, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/an...FeRi7AodKhoAdA . Buddy

Almost all pre 85 pumps are bad. The best thing to do is get a 85-87, 85-91 burb blazer washer bottle that has the pump in the bottle and run the 2 wires to the wiper motor. Many members here have done that mod.

Thanks guys. Im going to take the wahser set up off my 87 tbi and hook up the external pump.

For this mod do people just put spades in to the connecter for the pump on the older truck side then just put spades on the other end to the external pump? or is there a quicker easier way?

thanks
