dash pad trouble need advice
 

ok here goes, I have a 1985 c10 and I bought a Urethane dash pad from summit racing and I am having problems with it fitting right. I installed the pad same as the old one but over the vin plate the pad does not fit right.
can someone tell me if the pad goes under the windshield rubber or does the pad needs to be trimmed off or what do I need to do.
