Rust repairs
OK I'm fixing to start replacing all of my rusted out floorpans, rockers, cab corners, and anything else tht needs it. Couple of questions where is the best place to buy these parts. Also is this something that a newbie should takle are not. I have built the chassic upto and including a 600 hp 454 big block. Any help or comments are appreciated.

Re: Rust repairs
I'm also very happy with Top Banana. They had everything I needed in stock and it came pretty quick.

Re: Rust repairs
I'm currently in the same process as you're getting ready to dive into. This has been my first time ever doing this, in depth, bodywork. Just take your time and measure everything out and take some before pictures for reference. I'm almost done with my passenger side and then I'll be jumping over to the driver's side. I guarantee you it's taken me twice as long as it should, but everything seems to be falling into place with minor modification. You don't have to do it this way, but I have just tacked everything in place, to make sure everything is fitting right, and then I'll go back and burn it all in. Just my suggestion! Have fun!

Re: Rust repairs
I didn't brace mine up because my cab is bolted to the frame. I'm not saying this is right or wrong...that's just the way I did it. I've not had any problems so far. It's been a lot of fun actually, seeing it all come back together. My pieces were from LMC and required a little massaging, but nothing major.

Re: Rust repairs
Top Banana.
As others have said take lots of picture, measurements and your time. It is my first time doing it as well. Tack welded in my driver floor pan this morning. Spent about an hour getting the kick panel massaged enough to line up. The kick panel has been the most out of alignment so far. And I am going to have to redrill the holes where the bottom fender bracket goes as they just don't line up at all. I did not brace my cab but it is still mounted to the frame. I measured both door openings in different spots and they are dead on. Bret |
Re: Rust repairs
I bought mine from LMC, they worked well.

Re: Rust repairs
I did all the repairs on Dave's truck in my signature big red dog and they were lmc. All the info and pics are in the build. Check it out if you have questions
