stock appearing aftermarket steering wheels?
I'm a big dude. 6'2" and 300lb, and have a '64 C10. I currently am able to fit ok behind the wheel, but since the holidays and before I've been able to get back to my outside job, the distance has been closing.
I intend to cut back on the cookies and brewskis to remedy this in the long run, but in the meantime, I'm wondering if anybody has ever run across a steering wheel with a stock appearance that has less of a dish and a slightly smaller diameter. Say like a 3-4" dish and a 15" or so diameter. I think I could buy myself a little more room for a bit that way. I have considered tilt and I don't think I really like the prospects of the conversion and prefer the more stock look. Thanks. |

Re: stock appearing aftermarket steering wheels?
I sectioned a stock wheel down to 15". Lots of work if you section it, or you can get another 15" steering wheel and swap rims.
There are details on this page of my build thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...el#post5292959 |

We are about the same size....I used a 80's camero steering wheel and a early 90's truck seat.....made all the difference ..check out one of my threads on ac and you can see it

Re: stock appearing aftermarket steering wheels?
How about something like a 67 Chevelle steering wheel? It's been years since I've sat behind one, but memory tells me they were somewhat smaller and shallower than the stock truck wheel. I'm not finding any online dimensions to verify size though.

Re: stock appearing aftermarket steering wheels?
I'm using the Colorado customs 'classic' with the large horn button looks like a 55-57 chevy steering wheel. I love it!
