I have a 66 F100 that is in project status, and from the experience of I-beams to CV front end. I would say if you really want Long travel I beams get a Ford. Yes you can make them work, but the frame widths are extremely different.

I had a C20 cross member for a couple of weeks when I first got started on my F100 with the idea of making it fit. The Fords wide frame will practically slide over the Chevy frame, and you will effectively have a Z in the frame when connected. If my memory is correct you would have to shave the frame rails of the Ford about a 1/2 total to get it over the GM rails.

If you do this you will not want to run the early forged I beams due to them being rear steer, and you would have to mod you column to adapt along with wiring.

I would run the later beams post 87, and gain front steer which gives you the ease of hook up.

Or you could try to find a clip from a E150. They are front steer, but rather or not the have support for long travel suspension I do not know.

Either way I would use the 3/4 ton version, and get the camper special brakes. This way you have the factory big brake option.

I was not aware of aftermarket kits to put I-beams on trucks.

Personally while I like F250's for pre-running I just don't think I would spend a bunch of money to do it to a Chevy.

Its your truck, and it can be a nice set-up.

You can also do a "Swing Set" steering set up. Check out Race Desert....LOTS of good info there. Ziegelsteinfaust gave you some good info as well. For lifted(bent) I-Beams, check out Auto-Fab. YES it's a LOT of work, but can be done....$$$$$$$
