How rare is this?

1 Attachment(s)
292 A/C compressor and brackets, power steering pump, A.I.R. pump,Alternator(not in pic) and ALL associated brackets...only missing water pump pulley and harmonic balancer......
Is this rare? I have never personally seen A/C on a 292!

I've done a lot of research on inlines and have never seen any of those. I didnt even know you could get an inline w/ ac.

^^ Your research never revealed inline 6s came with a/c? Yes,at this point it is rare to find the L6 set-up for a/c

I have a 78' 292. That setup looks older than mine. I believe the first owner added it from the dealership, its located on the driverside, bottom of the engine with the p/s bracket bolted to the top of the a/c and over laps the lower water outlet thermostate housing, now if you find that piece too youll have a great collection. Im thinking tgats from a 67-72 truck

Re: How rare is this?

A/C on inlines is not really rare, biggest issue is the swap to integral head and radial compressors which created 2 sets of brakcets for the 194/230/250.
What makes this more rare is 292, the brackets are unique to that engine. You would need the crank pulley which is not real common but still available.
AIR means it came on a later motor. Is that the radial compressor? That would be mid-later 80s which fits with AIR.
Those are a little more common as some of the bigger trucks had A/C. AIR on 250's was usually integral head, but 292's never got the integral.
Still neat and unusual.
