What ford rear fits a 1984 c10?
I want a stronger rear end for my 1984 chevy with a BBC in it. Has the stock 10 bolt rear and it will never hold up with any grip. I know a ford 9 inch would fit but don't know what all is involved in swapping the rear and what trucks have the best fit?

Ford trucks have a 5x5 1/2 bolt pattern. You truck has a 5x5. With that said, you might want to try a mid 70's big wagon or Thunderbird . They were a 5x5 bolt pattern

Re: What ford rear fits a 1984 c10?
No there are plenty of 5 lug 12 bolts out there for 2wds only the 1/2 ton 4x4's had six lugs well if were sticking to just the 73-87 models. The 14 bolt is 8 lug but i am sure someone out there makes 5 lug axles for them.

If you hook it you'll need axles anyhow. I got a 79 F-150 9" and got Moser axles 5x5 and redrilled the drums.

Unless you have a monster of a big block a 12 bolt should be fine for it.It would be cheaper also since you can bolt it right in your truck.
