I remember in some off road magazines years ago there was a company selling these frontend conversions. But don't recall seeing a Escalade front though. I know this doesn't help but good luck.

Not likely; the popularity of the swaps you mention is because it is easy to fit the SUV front end to the pickup of the same architecture (ie, a GMT800 Escalade onto a GMT800 pickup, or a GMT400 Escalade front onto a GMT400 pickup).

Since there were no luxury SUVs during the squarebody timeframe it would be a major cut/cobble job to get the later versions to fit.

how about throwing an '83 Sedan D'Ville front end on there!? makes about as much sense.

sorry, but i don't see the allure of the Caddys

i wouldn't trade my Chevrolet for your Escalade or your freak parade

lighten up boys. i am kidding. to each his own.

it is a Big and Rich song.

seriously look at the doors on that Coupe D'ville. that are pretty square. you might be able to graft that nose on a 73-87.

I thought MY sense of humor was obscure (and didn't translate well to the internet).

Glad I'm not the only one with that problem...

Since I don't know much lyrically from either of these groups, I missed the punchline regardless of who wrote 'the song' (?). I'm guessing I'm not the only one that didn't get the humor because of that.... No foul, no harm.

I got the joke. My humor doesn't translate to the internet well, either.

If you want the caddy front end, just do it. **** a kit. Go buy a front clip off a caddy, and start bolting and cutting and welding and fabbing and DOING ACTUAL WORK; and do it. There was no 'kits" in the '50's so you could put DeSoto fenders on your '49 Ford. Guys just did it. They put in a lot of blood sweat and tears into their custom work. Not like today where guys buy a bunch of made in china bullsh!t, and call it "custom."

The reason you see off road trucks with newer front ends is a loop hole to race.To race a truck can only be so many years old,So you put a newer front end on a older truck and they let it slide through. As far as a caddy clip your kinda on your own to make that work never seen or heard of it done yet.

If I had to install a batwing hooded front clip to race, I'd walk.

Re: Early escalade conversion kit for 73-87 gen trucks...

Why not just buy a Cadillac emblem and replace the Bow-Tie with it. Or get a caddy grill and hack it up till' it fits in place of the Chevy grill. The whole clip seems impossible on a budget and very labor intensive. I like my truck the way it is.

"Bought a Chevy Truck cause I wanted a Chevy Truck, if and when I want a Cadillac, I'll buy a Cadillac." And that ain't from no song...... nuff said:chevy:

Now thinking back, I think it was Fabtech.....Geez really a pretty good ways back. I'm sure it was fiberglass deal. But I don't see why you can't make it happen if you want to. Anything is possible. It just takes longer.
