I have 2 that I removed from a 71. They are date coded by the hub, not by the valve stem. I don't know if this is what you are looking for. I don't have any that have date codes by the valve stem. You can see the "GM 71" stamped on the left side here.

Dave, one has a indentation on edge, it can be beat back out. They both has scratches form hubcaps. There doesn't appear to be any deep pitting
