shifter
im wondering what you guys are doing as far as being able to shift the 4l60e or 4l80e with the factory steering column shifter, i have no room for the linkage system that was there for the th350 because of my long tube camaro 98-02 headers

I used the Lokar ACA-1800. I had to bend a new rod for it, but it works good.

Re: shifter
jimmy how well does that linkage make the gear indicator line up?

Three rod that came with the Lokar kit was too short. I bought some 5/16" stainless steel rod and bent it to fit. I also threaded both ends because I did not like the set screws that Lokar uses on the transmission side. |
Re: shifter
I used the lokar 1800 as well and the indicator in the dash was messed up too...never did get it to line up right.

Re: shifter
The shift detent that is inside the column is different from a 3 speed automatic to a 4 speed automatic, so you will likely never get it perfect, but you can usually get from park to overdrive to line up right, which is what most people use 90% of the time anyway.

Re: shifter
mine was originally a 700r4. always seemed like it was off half a cog..
