The search is over!!! (for now) Bought a truck

Well, many of you know i have been on the search for a truck since i accidently sold my 69 BB truck last summer. I had quite a few people looking, WTB ads, craigslist, e-bay and so forth for the last couple of months. Turns out they don't just fall into your lap when you are looking. Ended up going 2700 miles with stops at vintage windmills place (jud), maddoxdbs place (dustin) and cash3481s place (mike). Didn't hang out too long at any one place. Did some trading with jud, bought the truck from dustin and a cab from mike.

Here is what i hauled home...

Nice Eric! I was thinking that looked like a good solid truck in the ad. How'd the new GMC and trailer do on the trip?

The trip went good for the most part. Had a good lightning storm and plenty of rain at mikes place which kept us inside except for about 3.7 minutes between rain dumps to load the cab. The old 94 ran perfect and used just under a quart of oil on the whole trip. Just turned over 45,ooo miles on the trip. One pic is at the route 66 museum in OK and a couple shots at the salt mines in kansas.

Of course what trip back into minnesota is complete without running into a blizzard? And yes it sucked driving in that! The last pic is a few NOS and used goodies i scrounged up along the way.
Enjoy and watch for the junkyard pics in another thread.

Eric,
Pleasure to meet you and your wife! Wish I would have offered for you guys to stay the night, if you weren't pushing on to the salt mines. Next time it's beer and BBQ I promise.
Truck looks great! It will serve you well.
If I get the building up before summers over I'll do a proper barn warming party!

Mike

All went good except for the shake at about 58 mph... loaded or empty. Gonna change that one tire we were looking at.

Didn't go through Mo on the way home. We went through on the way down however. What shop was it and what town?

Had it at the local swap meet last summer vending from it and figured i would throw a for sale sign in the window and see what happens. Had 2 people wanting it and it was sold in 20 minutes. I had to tell him i still needed it to haul my parts home the next day. Happened so fast i didn't know what happened.

The woodgrain door is nice, too bad the spid is gone.
Doesn't everyone need a spare cab just in case? It is a high hump, A/C 71 cab with factory cab lights. I will find a use for it...

Thanks joe. I figured you would like both. I picked up the 94 last fall with just over 40,000 actual on it.

Haha. Did a similar thing. Got so excited selling things I ended up driving my truck home without a front right fender.
