Odd Vin# need help
I need some VIN # help , or maybe conformation of what I think , I have an odd VIN # 2C253o125048 what I believe is. 2-1962 , C-conventional cab with gasoline engine ,25- 3/4 ton commercial truck , 3- chassis -cab, O- Oakland plant , 125048- first series . That's what I come up with , I'm thinking maybe it was a ice cream truck or a tow truck , has a 235 , manual 3 speed ,At any rate I don't believe it had any bed when sold originally . What do you guys think ?

Re: Odd Vin# need help
May have left the assembly line with no bed to have a utility bed, flat bed or any number of things added to it. Any pics?
Your correct on the vin though...2C253O125048 2=1962 C=conventional 25=3/4ton 127"wb 3=cab & chassis O=Oakland assembly 125048=sequence # off the line |
Re: Odd Vin# need help
Woog,
I checked the FAQ for my vin # on a 1961 Chevy, but my vin isn't listed for a factory location. VINWIZ wasn't much help either. It's 1c1440101058 The part of the vin that has me stumped is the factory location. In looking at your previous post, I have concluded that this must have been an Oakland truck with the "O" but your answer was for a later model truck. Have you or anyone else heard of this c10 model being made there in Oakland as early as 1961? Any info is appreciated...thanks! Tom Ps - it was an original California truck so Oakland would make a lot of sense... |
Re: Odd Vin# need help
