Custom shifter knob, help!

Hello everyone, I hope this is in the right place.

I have a T-56 in my truck, and have the stock sm465 shifter arm and knob welded on. The numbers or figures on the knob (L + 1 + 2 + 3 + R) are painted on and can be removed. I wanted to have the numbers 1 to 6 and "R" painted on with the same font and color of the factory numbers. Do you think it's doable? and if so, would you recommend me to go to someone which would be able to do something like this.

Thank you in advance :metal:

Maybe you could sand the top down to get rid of the original shift pattern and find someone with an engraver (think name badges) and re engrave. Or you can just put the shift pattern on a sticker on the roof of your truck.:lol:

That shift pattern sticker should have been posted in the Best anti theft device post.

In all seriousness - I have a friend who is the original owner of a '71 GTO with the base 3 speed manual trans. He ordered it that way because he liked that trans in his earlier '67 GTO.

Early in it's lifetime the car was stolen (and recovered). When the police interviewed witnesses they said you could hear the gears grinding when the car drove away - probably because the thieves were not familiar with (or expecting) a three speed ...

(lol)
