Help identify 6 cylinder engine

What size is this 6 cylinder engine? It is in a 1981 Chevy truck. Even though it is a six cylinder it is loaded with options. I think it might even have been a Silverado truck. Any help appreciated.

Should be a 250 in '81. And it's does have some options.
A/C is a rare one!

Its an intergrated head 250. Your appears to be the 2 bbl version that head was prone to cracking. You can change valve cover and throw away a lot of that plumbing. You can even install a older head.

GM did a good job of hiding the engine under lots of spaghetti, had to make the EPA guys happy........

Agree on all counts.

Depending on how desperate you are to know about the truck, you can send $50 and the VIN to the GM Heritage Center and they will give you the original factory invoice for that specific truck. It will show the exact option content and pricing for that truck.
