Ya just installed a new Reproduction in my truck and its way loose. Haven't spent much time trying to figure it out. I'm sure its something simple.

On the original ones I have taken a small, very sharp center punch, and put a couple of dimples in the ball. You have to make sure you punch it where the punch marks will be inside the mirror socket when you get it mounted and adjusted, so it tightens it up. Just don't get carried away with the punch. Punch it lightly at first and try it.

Great advice LockDoc, I need to try that on my burb. I had given up on my center mirror, as soon as the Cummins idles I'm looking at my floor.
