? motor running noise in dash
Got a '01 Suburban 2500 6.0...when the key is on, I can hear some type of small motor running. It's not real loud but noticeable. Sounds kind of like heater/ac blower motor, but does it even when that is all turned off. Seems to be coming from somewhere around center of dash.
Just curious as to what this sound is? |
Re: ? motor running noise in dash
Some of the 2000 and up trucks have a small deal just above your head in the headliner that just may be the source of your noise. My 06 crewcab and 03 Tahoe both have these and both make a sort of buzzing noise. Real noticeable when the radio is turned down. It stops when the key is turned off. I think I was told it is a small blower/sensor deal for the climate control or something.

Re: ? motor running noise in dash
It's normal. There are something like 8 motors in the dash. They cycle when key is turned on. Regardless if heat is on or off

Re: ? motor running noise in dash
What about a thumping sound? At times, the dash in my 05 sounds like it has critters thumping around in it.
