cant get any brake pedal.
87' front disks,rear drums.
Bought it,and rear tire was locking up upon mild braking. adjusted rear brakes, replaced wheel cylinders. didnt help. Had someone look at it and got the rear tire issue fixed. He said he tinkered with the combination valve, but from looking he didnt touch it? not sure. It had good brakes, but a load of pedal travel. I went out and picked up a master cylinder, and now its just spongy.. on front : new calipers, hoses, pads, master cylinder. Ive bled the brakes starting from passenger rear etc etc. twice. No dice. I didnt bench bleed the cylinder as i dont have a vice or a good place to put it level. I had my father to apply pressure on the brake pedal and popped the lines loose on the master then tightened them. did that a few times. then moved toward the rear, front etc. Ideas? |
Re: cant get any brake pedal.
gotta bench bleed the master they will hold air if you don't.... also get a vacuum bleeder and use that on the wheel cylinders

Re: cant get any brake pedal.
You have to bench bleed the master. The pedal and linkage hasn't got enough travel to completely bottom out the pistons.
