Trim removal.

My 71 has the upper and lower trim. I dislike the trim on my truck and want to remove it. My question is, how do I accomplish this without screwing up the paint or trim?

You are aware there are a lot of holes under that trim right?

I de-trimmed my Jimmy, and had to fill 90 holes.

If you have a 71 the upper bed trim is attached using stick-on clips. The majority of your other clips are screwed in and as other pointed out will leave behind a lot of holes to be filled in.

Yes ive seen the trim removal sets. I dont have one yet but plan on getting one. I also know there are a LOT of holes under the trim, but im willing to fill them in. Is there any way to do it without the set or should I just wait till next weekend when I can get a trim removal set.

Upper front fenders all use screw in clips.

I don't know what your truck looks like, but how do you intend to fill them in without having to paint everything?

Lower trim is 4". PO rattle canned it with orange and its peeling in places. Im planning on repainting it eventually. Until I repaint Ill just gray primer over the welded up holes.

Was going to suggest masking tape like I've used with a jiggler in the past, but if the paint is peeling it could do more harm than good.

Thanks tim! I feel like the paint would probably do okay with masking tape as long as I don't peel it off fast like a band aid.
