That's awesome. I just lit my 4.8l off last week as well. What a great feeling. Got any pucs of the whole truck. What color is that. It looks a lot like Catalina blue metallic.

No a local tuner wrote the tune for me.

Thank you. Deciding what brakes I want to go with. I really like the 14"
willwood's but having a hard time with the price tag. I think it might look funny with 20" rims and tiny brakes though.

I know Scotts Hot Rods is/was a vendor here, who sold the D52 upgrade kits which are pretty great for the money. If your truck had the regular "gm full size" d52 brakes, you can switch them out to the Wilwood setup for waaay less than going to the full-aftermarket brake setups.

Its the Wilwood Caliper with much larger/better piston setup, and its a direct replacement for the existing d52 with a "slightly" different size body. They can be used with the regular rotors, or upgrade to an aftermarket rotor and a premium pad for a MUCH more aggressive brake.

I did them on my 66 with the 1.25" HD rotors (stock replacements). My truck has hydroboost, and milled drums in the rear which do like 5% of the overall stopping. These d52's up front do a good job of handling the crazy bias.

Is there a different mounting bracket for the W W caliper, do you have a part number?

BR3W CITY 04-27-2014 04:38 PM

Re: first start video turbo ls1.

It mounts on the factory slide/bracket.

I don't have a part # off hand for the kit (its different part for 1" vs 1.25" rotors), but now would be a good time for a vendor to pipe up and mention if they still carry these. I got it from Scotts, they were pretty easy to work with.

Re: first start video turbo ls1.

Here is a thread that Scott's did on the Wilwood stuff, I'd give them a call and see what the damage would be.
